retirement assets for CS not countable –which states?

Hi: Thanks for the kind words about my book! There are many, many rules that vary from state to state. In order to tabulate them for all 50 states, a tremendous amount of research into the laws and regulations of each state would have to be done. Then also, at any point in time those laws or regs can be revised, so it would take constant monitoring of all 50 states to keep up with the laws in any definitive way.

An elder law attorney practicing in one state must of course know the answers to what applies or not in his/her own state but at least does not have to worry about the other 49 states. I wish I could answer your question, but the only way to know for sure is to consult the statutes and regulations that govern Medicaid in your state. Thanks for the excellent question!
